i like the gradients that were used in the tutorial , very simple yet professional

Nice tutorial! Will test immediately! :=-)

PS Just tried it... Unfortunately, couldn't do the first method with the mask (not enough experience, I guess), but the second worked like a charm:-)

Nice one very useful . But i would like to know how to make this effect using Fireworks plzz.

Hey thanks glad you like it...

@Michel Bozgounov let me know how its going you problem with masks... you can post the image src here or tell us in what step you cannot do the effect, or maybe you already found out the way to do it :)

@Zoe they are just gradients in soft light blend mode...the only special is that I did a 1px line to make it look like a highlight.

Well, at some point I was simply unable to work with the mask the way you described it... I guess, I simply made a wrong step somewhere along the tutorial:)

Anyway... It is not so important... I'll try another day:) And if need for help, will post here on the forum again...
