Sounds cool. In case it's helpful, I started working on a command to automate the above process, which is attached. I got hung up on something, I forget what, but the attached command does create a spotlight completely from JS... doing the distortion proved to be more difficult than I would have guessed, and there is probably a more straightforward way than what I did, but the command is attached none the less.

EDIT: I remember where I got hung up. I was originally going to make it an AutoShape(spotlight autoshape), which would be really cool I think, but discovered that bitmaps can't be in autoshapes.... yar
