A Teddybear (Layers + Resizing technique)

This shows a method I use, that might be of use to other people; the method being resizing.

If I want to create an icon or image that's say 128px by 128px I will always draw the original at 256px by 256px.

This is because:-
a). It's easier to create the shapes and deal with the construct
B). It means that I can shrink it and the anti-alias effect of resizing adds more detail to the picture and makes things less blocky.

As you can see from the diagram the final image I used was shrunk down (then sharpened) and it looks alot more detailed than the original. If I'd tried to draw it that small it would have kept the Fireworks chunky layer effect.

I always save a copy of the original PNG as either a Flattened PNG or TIFF.
Then import the copy into my project and resize it.

Resizing Group-Layered PNGs just never works and you always end up with edges and bits out of place.
