Me again :|
Here's how to make a very simple pencil.
Simple shapes, nothing but a few linear and elipse fill-effects.

I've done a shiny magnifying glass, medalion, documents, folders etc too.
I might put them up one day but I think I'm submitting too much here at the moment and will leave it a while incase people get bored of me :)

Anyway, hope this helps!

You've got only 12 posts so far (long way to become Fireworks Ninja ;) ), and your designs are great!
I am sure everyone here appreciates your contribution. Keep 'em coming....

More PLEASE! :)

I love it Adam, it really helps me to see images laid out that way...since I'm sort of a bonehead when it comes to creating graphics.

Zoe, sorry but I can't share the layered version as some of the work I do is for a specific client.
I break them apart to show how they were made so people can try to build a similar version for theirself.
Sorry :(

the effects are quite easy, try to practice on making gradients, inner shadows, the shiny gloss is a gradient, and a part of the color, the transparency is around 50 or so.

Cool Zoe, looks like your pencil is going to last a bit longer than mine (mine's getting a bit hard to hold) :)

here's my pencil, with an eraser! i pretty much duplicated yours, then made it a symbol to allow 9-scale slicing and then made it bigger.

Here's the editable .png, 'cept the pencil is a bitmap. If you want that, check the earlier post. I even made an .ico file...but it just sits on my desktop

OK, so it's 'Pencil Time', here's one from me, too:

Attached Image: monthly_03_2008/post-124-1206913967.png

PS (first published in my blog, there you can see also full-size;-)
PPS Err, I know I'm a bit late, but some say 'better late than very late' :-D
PPPS Might share the editable PNG, too, if I remember where it is... :-/
