very nice davep and devins can u share the png ?

that is the FW png if you click on it then the lightbox pic comes up then you can save it, open it as a png in fireworks. or right click this http://pp.kpnet.fi/p...stuff/zz1-2.png and save as ![]()
the biggest problem i had - that dev seems to have achieved better - is placing the highlights so close to the other gradient stops - very tricky with so little space in the gradient editor. there was an extension ages ago to make this easier but i didnt find it again
i did consider making the highlights as separate layer - but didnt have any more time.
i also made one rectangle with the blue gradient then grouped the strips or ribbons together then cut them out of this flat gradient block - that way all the gradients line up.
it certainly was a bit of a challange ![]()

thanks zoe. lol actually i joined in 2007! but i forgot about this until i restored some old bookmarks so though i'd pop in again ![]()
i found the plugin http://pixelyzed.com...dobe-fireworks/ (scroll down to number 2)
would have been so much easier to have made it with this. i might tweak my version now i've found this... you can zoom into nodes so makes it a lot easier to accurately place highlight colours for example.
