Hiya Gang.

I'm searching for a method to make this project of mine easier.
I could have sworn I've seen it elsewhere before, but can't find it.

Basically what I'm looking for is an 'extension' perhaps? That makes it easy to work with mirroring a path AS I WORK.
Probably with the option to mirror horizontally, or vertically, or both.

Example:


I'm working on my new tattoo
It's another ambigram. Traditionally, I do these by hand.
But want to try it with Fireworks.

This is essentially what I am trying to accomplish.
As you can see, the first two example are exact mirrors (180*) of themselves. The last one is me going crazy


Can you read what it says?
I won't spoil it, but a high-five to the correct guesser.
(HINT: it is someone's name (female))

So for the first two, I had created a Symbol, edited the Symbol, and back and forth and back and forth.
It got really tiring, so I was thinking ... there HAS to be an easier way!

The tool you are looking for is under Modify > Transform > Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical, or right-click > Transform > Flip.... You need to make a copy of your shape before you use it. Did you mean you'd like to have the option of copy-flip (i.e. mirror) in one action? I am not aware of such a tool... others? Anyone?

Not really. Good intriguing novels, but not obsessed - much!
Angels & Demons did inspire my first ambigramic tattoo though.

Yeah, I'm aware of that method.
Too many clicks to achieve desired results.

Yes, that would be exactly what I need.
During creation of an ambigram, the slightest change to any one point in the wrong direction makes some undesired effects.


Hhmm, hopefully, someone knows of a quick solution.

You could start from this article and make the mirror panel custom to what you want. I think mirror drawing take a hit on performance, but good idea though.

With just a quick skimming of that tutorial, it looks as though some scripting is involved?! What if I don't know any?

I think mirror drawing take a hit on performance, but good idea though.

Even if what is being mirrored is a vector? I would have thought that wouldn't impact much or not at all.

EDIT:
I'm following that example, and it seems pretty simple. I can't believe I have never used the history command ability.

But still wish for a simpler method. I'll try this for a while and see how well it improves my workflow.
